Soybean harvests are progressing rapidly across the United States. According to the Crop Progress report published by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) on September 29, 2025, 19% of planted acreage has been harvested. This rate is in line with the average of the last five years.
According to the report, soybean plants are also maturing rapidly. With 79% of crops having completed leaf fall, 8 million acres (approximately 3.2 million hectares) were harvested last week.
The highest harvest rate was recorded in the southern United States. Progress in the region ranged from 66% to 78%, while in the Midwest, harvest is just beginning in the west and has reached nearly a quarter of its completion in the east. Officials expect the process to accelerate in the coming weeks if weather conditions are favorable.
The 2025 soybean yield appears generally strong. According to USDA data, 61% of crops are rated “good” or “very good,” while 27% are “fair.”
More updates from farmers will be available in the coming weeks as the harvest continues.
