The USSEC Türkiye team and industry representatives continue their visit to the United States to meet Turkey’s growing soybean needs in the feed sector and livestock industry. During this comprehensive tour, which took place from August 17-22, 2025, the Turkish delegation is closely examining production facilities, farms, and key companies at the heart of the American soybean industry. The visit provides industry representatives with a detailed overview of the soybean supply chain.
Under the guidance of USSEC Country Manager Sırrı Kayhan, the delegation is holding important meetings ahead of the Soy Connext event in Washington, D.C. Their first stop was a grain elevator owned by Bunge Henderson, a leading US agricultural company. Here, the delegation received detailed information on storage, transportation, and processing processes, and obtained critical data for Turkey’s soybean imports.
The same day, the team traveled to Flat Lick Grain Farms in Kentucky, where they had the opportunity to observe modern farming practices and technological methods firsthand. The efforts of US farmers to increase productivity and implement sustainable agricultural practices attracted considerable interest from the Turkish representatives. Examining the entire process from soybean production to delivery to Turkey, the delegation witnessed firsthand that the high quality of American soybeans is no coincidence, but rather a result of considerable effort. These visits, held annually in the second half of August, provide industry representatives with detailed information on all their interests.
The visit isn’t limited to field inspections. US agricultural policies and soybean export strategies will also be discussed at meetings to be held in Washington as part of the program. These meetings are expected to further strengthen agricultural and feed industry cooperation between the two countries.
The close attention and hospitality shown to the Turkish delegation by American soybean industry companies and producers will enhance the effectiveness of the visit, and the experience gained is expected to directly contribute positively to the Turkish feed sector.
