On May 29-30, 2025, a visit was held under the leadership of USSEC Türkiye representative Sırrı Kayhan and hosted by Aves, with the participation of USSEC Russia representative and Soy Protein Concentrate production technology expert Dr. Maria Domoroschenkova and Çukurova University Prof. Dr. Tufan Eroldogan. In order to further develop the American Soybean Industry-university and industry cooperation, the Soy Protein Concentrate (SPC) production facilities of Aves, which uses American soybeans, were visited and information was exchanged.
The Region’s First Soy Protein Concentrate (SPC) Facility
Aves Oil is the first company in southern Turkey to start operating in this field with its Soy Protein Concentrate (SPC) production. During the two-day visit, participants had the opportunity to examine the production processes and quality control laboratories on site. Company officials shared detailed information, especially about the collaborations initiated with the aquaculture sector.
University-Industry Collaboration Expands
Within the scope of the visit program, with the participation of Prof. Dr. Tufan Eroldoğan from Çukurova University Faculty of Fisheries, feed performance trial projects to be carried out in cooperation with USSEC-AVES and Çukurova University on the use of feeds containing Soy Protein Concentrate (SPC) in different species were discussed. In the meetings held, the potential of Soy Protein Concentrate (SPC) for the fishing sector as well as usage scenarios in other animal husbandry areas were brought to the agenda.
On the last day of the visit, the first steps were taken for the use of Soy Protein Concentrate (SPC) in poultry feed. Akgül Piliç Board Chairman Mr. Hamza Çalışkan met and exchanged ideas on potential studies in this field. It is expected that the meetings will turn into concrete projects with Soy Protein Concentrate (SPC) trials for the poultry sector.
This visit is considered an important step for the expansion of Soy Protein Concentrate (SPC) production in Turkey and the development of high value-added feed solutions with domestic resources.
It is thought that the Soy Protein Concentrate production investment led by Aves will contribute greatly to the country’s economy by providing added value to soybeans imported from America and marketing them both in our country and to the countries in the region.
