The USSEC Turkey team and industry representatives are continuing their visit to the US to meet the growing soybean demand of Türkiye’s feed and livestock sector. During this comprehensive tour, which will take place from August 17-22, 2025, the Turkish delegation met with production facilities, farms, and major companies at the heart of the American soybean industry.
During the visits, guided by USSEC Turkey Representative Sırrı Kayhan, participants had the opportunity to observe the soybean supply chain in detail. The delegation held important meetings before attending the Soy Connext event in Washington, D.C.
The next stop of the visit was a grain elevator belonging to Consolidated Grain & Barge Co. (CGB), a leading US agricultural company. Here, the delegation received detailed information about storage, transportation, and processing processes, CGB’s work in the soybean and agricultural sectors, and obtained critical data for Turkey’s soybean imports.
The delegation visited the University of Kentucky in Kentucky, where they had the opportunity to observe modern farming practices and the latest developments in biotechnology used in agriculture. Welcoming the delegation by College of Agriculture Dean Dr. Laura Stephenson and Plant Pathologist Dr. Aardra Kachroo, the delegation learned about the university’s soybean and feed sector, Kentucky’s bourbon production, and the research conducted by university students in this area. Following this visit, the delegation toured the James B. Beam Institute, a bourbon production research center located on the same campus.
These visits, held annually in the second half of August, offer industry representatives the opportunity to gain detailed information on all topics of interest. The visit will not be limited to field visits. As part of the program, US agricultural policies and soybean export strategies will also be discussed during meetings in Washington. These meetings are expected to further strengthen agricultural and feed industry cooperation between the United States and global countries.
Following the meetings, the delegation traveled to Washington, DC, to attend the Soy Connext conference.
